It's a simple song that unravels the heart of a departed lover with a minimal arrangement centered on guitar and Rosé’s appealing voice. The progress and composition of the restrained song makes the story of the song stand out even more.
The live version of Gone from BLACKPINK: The Show was included on BLACKPINK’s fourth live album. It was released on Spotify and Apple Music on July 1, 2021.

On January 26, 2021, a coming soon teaser was posted onto BLACKPINK's YouTube channel. YG later stated that the audio and the video were different from each other. The audio being the title track and the video for the b-side track. On January 31st, during the concert, BLACKPINK: The Show, half of the music video was played before Rosé performed the song.
On April 1, 2021, it was announced through BLACKPINK's social media accounts that the M/V for Gone would released on April 5, 2021.
According to Naver, YG stated “From the scene where white feathers are flying in the dark, to the scene where she is curled up lying in the bathroom floor, to Rosé fading away from the burning rose. There are various metaphors in each cut, which heightens the immersion of the viewers” in regards to the M/V.[1]
